ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
“UNITY THROUGH DIVERSITY” (Language, Communication and Innovation in Multicultural Contexts) is the major theme for the series of Symposium for International Languages and Knowledge (SILK), SILK is a joint-collaboration between three established universities in Asia, Mahidol University (MU), Thonburi University (TRU ), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Osaga University (OU), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Philippines, WalailakUniversity (WU), and Rangsit University (RU). Within the spectrum of language varieties, SILK aims to gather students, researchers, educators, academics and professionals from Asia and around the world to amplify their knowledge by sharing their experiences to the broader community.
The Symposium of International Languages and Knowledge aims to stimulate inquiry, invite dialogue and build a body of knowledge on language learning. The symposium aspires to link new knowledge in the fields of languages, education and knowledge. Within the themes of SILK 2020, the conference will:
I. bring together academics, researchers, professionals and students, whose interests are in languages, education pedagogy and creativity;
II. promote the value of knowledge sharing and networking among presenters and participants;
III. tighten academic cooperation and collaboration among the ASEAN countries, particularly within the three university parties;
IV. raise public awareness in the learning of languages and knowledge in general.
As commitment to SILK 2020, the three universities will host the symposium on annual rotational basis.
